From zero to earning 40,000 per month: Revealing the secret of my journey to start a commission website

Have you ever dreamed of owning your own online business and steadily making tens of thousands of dollars every month? Today, I will reveal to you a real-life entrepreneurial story that will let you know how to build a successful commission website and achieve significant income in a short period of time.

I'm Mad, a tech industry veteran living in California. Over the past seven years, I have dabbled in various marketing niches, but ultimately settled on affiliate marketing. Not long ago, I decided to quit my full-time job and devote myself to this side business full of challenges and opportunities.

My website, called “Semester Wellness,” may seem like a generic platform for content in the health and mental space, but in reality, it’s my carefully crafted commission marketing machine. Through deep keyword research and partnerships with hundreds of brands, I successfully built a business model that attracted my target audience, generated purchases, and ultimately generated rebates for me.

In about two years, Semester’s monthly visits soared to 80,000, and my monthly income stabilized at around $40,000. However, my income has fluctuated recently due to Google algorithm updates and market changes, but even so, I have been able to maintain an average monthly income of about $15,000.

So, how did I get started on this entrepreneurial path?

It all started when I joined a startup after graduating from college. There I was introduced to marketing and quickly fell in love with the industry. Over time, I developed skills in content marketing, operations, and technology tools. These skills played a pivotal role in my later entrepreneurial journey.

It was my good friend and mentor Alex who really introduced me to commission marketing. Not only did he introduce me to the mysteries of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), but he continued to guide me into the world of commission marketing over the years. When I saw the huge success of the commission website he and his friends built, my inner entrepreneurial passion was completely ignited.

So, I decided to follow in Alex’s footsteps and start my own commission marketing journey. Even though I knew nothing about writing or website building, I knew that with the right tools and determination, anything was possible. By investing in some promising online tools and learning how to use the WordPress platform, I gradually figured out how to create and manage a commission website.

In the process, I also gained many valuable lessons. For example, I learned how to organize my content calendar effectively and delve into keyword research to attract my target audience; I understood the importance of branding and put effort into creating a unique website identity; I also learned how to focus on one thing at a time A task or two to be more productive and avoid being overwhelmed by trivial matters.

Of course, I have also encountered setbacks and difficulties. For example, in the early days of starting my business, I had no clue about email marketing and social media marketing; I also once fell into paralysis due to overthinking. But it was these challenges that allowed me to continue to grow and improve, and finally achieved a magnificent transformation from zero to making 40,000 yuan a month.

Now, I would like to say to those entrepreneurs who are considering or just starting out: Don’t be afraid of failure and don’t wait for the perfect opportunity to fall from the sky. As long as you take the first step bravely, keep learning and trying, it is possible to realize your dreams like me. Remember, success will not come overnight, but as long as you persist in working hard, you will eventually usher in your own glorious moment.
