Have you ever dreamed of owning your own cabin by the sea, where you can hear the sound of waves and see soaring seagulls every morning when you wake up? Recently, I personally experienced such a life in a small town in Yangjiang, Guangdong, but when I heard that Beihai City had better urban facilities, I embarked on the journey to Beihai without hesitation.
Beihai, as a prefecture-level city with a total population of 1.85 million, left a deep impression on me. When I walked on the streets of Beihai, I found that the city was not as lively as I imagined. Whether it is the two-way eight-lane main road in the city center or the narrow alleys in the old city, they all look empty and deserted. However, this does not affect my favorable impression of Beihai, because the city's high-rise buildings and modern urban facilities make me feel its potential.
In Beihai, I found that the rent is really, as netizens said, very cheap. The monthly rent of houses in urban areas is generally less than 1,000 yuan, but in some new areas or villa areas, even the monthly rent can be controlled within a very reasonable price range. However, there is one thing to note here, that is, a house that costs several hundred yuan a month is only this price when rented for a long time. If rented for a short period, the price will be doubled.
During my two years of travel, I chose many suburban towns as my residence. For me, the view and the room decoration are two important criteria in choosing a place to stay. In Beihai, I found that both the community and the hotel can meet these two requirements of mine. However, I also discovered a problem, that is, these low-priced houses often have traces of multiple long-term use, which makes me feel like I am living in someone else's home.
In the new coastal areas of Beihai, I found many small villas. Most of these villas are purchased by northerners, but few people actually live in them. These villas are generally rented on an annual basis, and the price is about 3,800 yuan a month. Although such a price may be a bit high for short-term travelers, if you plan to live in Beihai for a long time, then such a villa is undoubtedly a very cost-effective choice.
Beihai is indeed a tourist city worth visiting. In addition to the beautiful sea views and modern city facilities, I was also deeply impressed by the old town of Beihai. The ancient city here has been rarely repaired and retains a lot of its original features. However, apart from these features, the North Sea does not have much unique features. Additionally, for short-term travelers, cheap accommodation in North Sea may require you to accept some less-than-perfect conditions.
Beihai is an underrated coastal city. It has modern urban facilities and beautiful sea views, but there are some areas that need improvement. If you plan to live in Beihai for a long time, then the low-cost housing and villa areas here are undoubtedly a very good choice. But if you're only traveling for a short period of time, you may need to accept some less-than-perfect conditions. No matter what, the North Sea is worth exploring and experiencing.
