Love in Kyoto: A night of fireworks with my middle-aged husband
Have you ever dreamed of walking in a foreign country with your loved one and experiencing the culture and romance there? My middle school husband and I realized this dream not long ago. We went to Kyoto, Japan to celebrate our eighth anniversary.
My husband is a middle school boy who has been addicted to Japanese comics for more than 20 years. When he learned that we were going to Japan, the excitement and anticipation in his eyes made me feel his innocence and love. He said: "I can finally go to the country of my dreams!"
Kyoto, the ancient capital that carries thousands of years of Japanese culture, attracts us with its unique charm and rich traditions. We specially booked a creative B&B, which is not only a place to stay, but also a space full of art. Every corner of the room is full of design, making people feel like they are in an exhibition hall.
During our days in Kyoto, we did not deliberately chase the popular attractions, but enjoyed the surprises we encountered in this city. We walked along the ancient streets and felt the tranquility and harmony. Every shop is full of stories, and every product carries the hard work and wisdom of the craftsmen. We picked out gifts for each other in a vintage shop, and the retro items made us feel like we were transported back to the Showa era.
During my time in Kyoto, the most unforgettable thing for me was the grand fireworks display. When night fell, we followed the flow of people to the fireworks scene. At that moment, I was deeply shocked by the scene in front of me. Fireworks bloom all over the night sky, as beautiful as a dream. And my husband, a man who always showed strength and independence, actually shed tears at this moment. "It's so beautiful and I feel like we're really lucky to be able to experience a moment like this together," he said.
Yes, how many eight years in life can we cherish so much? We have experienced ups and downs and walked a tortuous road, but it is these experiences that make us cherish each other's existence even more. Although the fireworks are short-lived, they give us the best memories. Just like our love, although there will be ups and downs, as long as we cherish every day, we can let it bloom the most brilliantly.
Standing under the fireworks, I held my husband's hand tightly. We made a wish together, hoping that we can always be by each other's side in the days to come. At that moment, I felt unprecedented happiness and satisfaction. Because I know that no matter how many challenges and difficulties await us in the future, as long as we hold hands and connect hearts, we can go through every difficulty together.
The trip to Kyoto was short but full of wonderful memories. The time spent with my husband will always be engraved in my heart and become the most precious treasure in my life. And those fireworks that fill the sky seem to be witnesses of our love and will always illuminate our way forward.
