Revealing the secrets of Fangchenggang: a paradise for short-term rentals, a livable city with delicious food
When looking for a city that is suitable for short-term living as a freelancer, we often encounter many challenges. Especially when you expect to enjoy a seaside vacation home with a very low budget, such as a few hundred dollars a month, such a choice seems to become particularly difficult. However, Fangchenggang in Guangxi Province has become an exception with its unique charm.
The port area of Fangchenggang is lined with high-rise buildings, and the urban population has grown from 115,800 in 2010 to 206,100 in 2020. But surprisingly, despite the rapid population growth, the occupancy rate of buildings here is relatively low. Although there are people coming and going on the streets, if you look up, you will find that the windows of many buildings are dark. This unique urban phenomenon makes Fangchenggang a paradise for the short-term rental market.
Here, you can rent a satisfactory house at a very low price. Taking the community where I currently live as an example, the monthly rent for a one-bedroom apartment is only 500 to 610 yuan, for a two-bedroom apartment it is 700 yuan, and for a three-bedroom apartment it is only 900 yuan. Such a price is undoubtedly a huge attraction for short-term renters.
But the charm of Fangchenggang goes far beyond that. Although the sea view here is not first-class, life in the city is extremely convenient. Whether it's express delivery, supermarket or takeaway, it can meet your daily needs. What’s even more surprising is that the food culture here is extremely rich. From authentic Northeastern cuisine, Inner Mongolia grassland mutton, to Chongqing style, Wanzhou grilled fish, to Shaanxi noodle restaurants, Beijing roast duck, Sichuan hot pot, etc., there are all kinds of delicious food, so that you can feel the flavor while tasting the food. The city’s tolerance and diversity.
However, Fangchenggang is not perfect. The long and humid summers are probably the only drawbacks here. But for short-term renters who pursue cost-effectiveness and freedom, these seem to be bearable. After all, here you can enjoy low rent, rich food and convenient life.
If you are someone who likes to travel and try new things, then Fangchenggang is definitely a place worth visiting. Here, you can feel the unique charm of this city and find your own world. So, if you are looking for a city suitable for short-term rental living, you might as well consider Fangchenggang!
