Are you tired of working 9 to 5 day after day? Want to find the perfect work-life balance anywhere in the world? Today, I will take you on my journey as a “digital nomad” and let’s explore together how to realize the dream of traveling around the world while ensuring income.
Three years ago, I was still stuck in a traditional full-time job, facing a fixed desk and computer screen every day. But my heart is already tired of this monotonous life and longs for more freedom and adventure. The outbreak of the epidemic made me see an opportunity - working from home became possible. So, I quit my full-time job and started my freelance career.
The road to freelancing isn’t always easy. In the beginning, I worked harder than ever before, taking part in various projects and working for different clients. During that time, I had almost no rest, but my income was not ideal. However, it was this period of hard work that made me more determined in my choice.
After a year of hard study and work, I gradually won the trust of bigger and better customers. I knew it was time to pick up the pace. So, when I was twenty-four, I started my own marketing agency. Starting a company was like jumping into an abyss, I needed to deal with all kinds of company stuff like paperwork, legal skills, etc. But none of this holds me back because I know this is part of the journey.
As the company continued to grow, I finally realized my dream of working online and traveling around the world. I moved to a tropical island and surfed, climbed, and watched beautiful sunsets by the sea. My life has become more colorful and meaningful.
Looking back on my journey as a “digital nomad”, I would like to share a few insights and suggestions:
