Taking you through parent-child time in Dali: a warm family travel guide

Reunion four years later, choosing Dali as the place of reunion

Do you still remember the joy of your parents taking you to travel around the world when you were a child? Time flies, in a blink of an eye we grow up and our parents get older. After not returning home for four years, I planned a four-day and three-night trip to Dali so that the whole family could enjoy the joy of reunion again. But how to make this trip relaxing and enjoyable? Next, I will reveal this painless family travel strategy for you.

Arriving in Dali, the warm reunion starts with delicious food

My parents flew for more than three hours to arrive in Dali, and the fatigue of the journey was dispelled by a delicious Yunnan mushroom soup hot pot. The deliciousness of the wild mushrooms and the warmth of the hot soup bring the family's hearts together. After dinner, we strolled along the lively Renmin Road and visited the Confucian Temple at night to feel the charm of the ancient city.

Accommodation options: Rent the whole small yard, the warmth and comfort of home

In order to let our parents have a good sleep during the trip, we chose to rent the entire small courtyard as accommodation. Here you have the warmth and comfort of home, where you can also drink tea, watch movies and enjoy family time together. It is recommended that you choose the small courtyard near the north gate of the ancient city, which is far away from the noisy tourist area and has convenient transportation.

Explore Dali: fireworks and beautiful scenery coexist

Day 1: Ancient City and Cangshan Mountain

In the early morning, we took our parents to the Beimen Food Market to feel the fireworks of Dali. Thin bean flour as breakfast, allowing parents to taste the authentic taste of Yunnan. Later, we took a cable car to visit Cangshan Mountain and enjoyed the magnificent natural scenery. At noon, the family tasted the most authentic grilled tofu in the ancient city, and the parents were full of praise for its bursting deliciousness. In the afternoon, we walked among the three towers and felt the history. In the evening, we went to Longchun Pier on the Erhai Lake to see the seagulls. Our parents took the initiative to buy biscuits and feed them to the seagulls, which was a great joy.

Day 2: Drive around Erhai Lake and enjoy the beauty of nature

Renting a car and driving around Erhai Lake became our choice for the second day. A seven-seater car can be rented for only 100 yuan a day for a week, allowing us to travel easily. The fields of Xizhou, the tie-dye craftsmanship of the Bai people, and the scenery of the Erhai Lake in the double corridors all made the parents linger. In the evening, we climbed to Yunxiang Mountain to enjoy the sunset and night view of Dali and feel the charm of nature.

Day 3: Stay away from the hustle and bustle and enter Shaxi Ancient Town

In order to keep our parents away from the hustle and bustle of Dali, we drove to Shaxi Ancient Town. The ancient stage, bluestone road, Yujin Bridge and Xinfeng Bookstore here all make us feel the simplicity and tranquility. We strolled through every corner of the ancient town, savoring the slow life of Yunnan.

The meaning of travel: the joy and happiness of family reunion

When we were young, our parents took us on trips, and now we make money to take them on trips with us. We grow up and they get older, but what remains the same is the joy and happiness of family reunion. Traveling with mom and dad is a rare moment of family reunion and our most precious memory. Let us cherish every travel time with our parents!
