12-year-old boy sells $400,000 NFT in 9 hours: the miracle of early programming education

Have you ever thought that a 12-year-old could make $400,000 in just 9 hours? It may sound like fantasy, but for Benjamin Ahmed, it's his reality.

This little boy from London has successfully made a name for himself in the NFT market in 2021 with his creative talent and programming skills. He independently created more than 3,000 NFT works and sold them all in just nine hours, making a lot of money.

Ahmed’s NFT journey began with a keen interest in the technology. "I'm fascinated by NFTs because you can easily transfer the ownership of NFTs through the blockchain," he said in an interview with CNBC. After seeing the potential of this technology, he decided to create his own NFT series himself.

In early summer 2021, Ahmed released his first NFT series - 40 colorful pixel art characters called "Minecraft Jaa". These childlike artworks are all created and coded by him himself. Although the series wasn't an immediate hit, Ahmed was undeterred. He viewed this attempt as a valuable learning experience and was determined to continue creating.

A few months later, Ahmed launched his second NFT series - "Weird Whales". This time he created 3,350 unique pixel whales, each with unique characteristics. The images of these whales take on a style similar to the iconic pixelated cypherpunk that is a favorite among collectors.

Ahmed said he learned how to program NFTs from online video tutorials and from friends he met in Discord communities. After the "Weird Whales" series was launched in July, it was all sold out in just nine hours. As a result, Ahmed gained 80 Ether coins (ETH) in one day, and based on the price at the time, his total income exceeded $400,000.

Faced with this huge income, Ahmed showed calmness and foresight beyond his years. He said: "I plan to keep all my ether instead of converting it to fiat currency." This firm confidence in digital currencies is as impressive as his success in the NFT field.

Ahmed's achievement was no accident. His father, who worked as a software developer for the London Stock Exchange, taught Ahmed programming from the age of five. This early programming education not only developed his skills, but also inspired his creativity and love for technology.

When asked what help he received, Ahmed explained: "I looked at a lot of open source code, joined Discord channels with developers, and had my dad help me solve some difficult problems." This positive attitude towards learning and the courage to try are the keys to his success.

Ahmed’s story not only allows us to see a shining moment of a programming prodigy, but also allows us to see the huge potential of early programming education. In this digital age, mastering programming skills will become an important key to the future for children. And kids like Ahmed are the hope for the future. They have proved with their actions that nothing is impossible as long as they dare to try, learn and innovate continuously.
