After owning a cloud server, how can you give full play to its value and make your investment not in vain? In fact, by installing a server management software called 1Panel, you can unlock many functions of the cloud server with one click and maximize its value. This article will guide you step by step to build a personal blog and private network disk with 1Panel. The former is used to express oneself, and the latter is used to pleasure oneself.
All major manufacturers have cloud service products, and you can choose according to your own needs. This time, Tencent Cloud is used as an example for demonstration. When purchasing, here are some tips to save money: log in to Tencent Cloud’s official website and click “Latest Activities”. During Double 11, not only will there be free products such as servers, databases, and object storage for you to experience, but there will also be group buying activities. Two people can purchase as a group. Plus three months of resources and corresponding voucher red envelopes. There are purchase links in the comments section. If you plan to use it for a long time, it is more appropriate to purchase a lightweight server with an annual package. Configurations such as dual-core 4G 5M bandwidth are very cost-effective and suitable for building personal blogs, network disks and other applications that do not require high concurrency.
After the purchase is completed, click "Console" to enter the resource management interface, and you can see the cloud server resources you just purchased.
After entering the server management interface, you need to log in remotely and install related software. There are two ways to log in remotely: local SSH and Web SSH. It is recommended to use Web SSH. As long as you have access to the Internet, you can manage it, and the internal interaction experience is the same as the local console.
To install 1Panel, you need to go to its GitHub address, copy the one-click installation command, and return to the server to paste and execute. Please wait a moment for the installation to complete. After the installation is completed, the access address and login information will be given, which must be recorded and saved. It is inaccessible at this time and port release rules need to be configured. Since the cloud server is exposed to the public network, only common ports such as 22, 88, and 443 are opened by default. 1Panel port needs to be released manually. Once setup is complete, enter the URL in your browser and press Enter. When the corresponding interface appears, the installation is successful. After logging in, you can see that 1Panel has a refreshing interface and rich functions, which is suitable for personal website and website group management.
Click "Apply" on the 1Panel interface, then click "Build Website", which includes mainstream website building tools such as Halo and WORDPRESS. This time I chose Halo. Click "Install", check the port for external access, and keep the installation information as default. Since it is based on docker installation, the process is almost invisible and can be completed quickly. You must also configure port release before accessing Halo. Return to 1Panel, click "Installed", and you can access Halo through the shortcut button.
The Halo website is practical and flexible and is divided into front-end and back-end. Enter the background management interface to publish articles (the editor is in Markdown format), customize pages, manage comments, etc. If you don't like the default theme, you can change it. There are many open source free themes, and third-party plug-ins can also be integrated to increase playability. The overall functions are comprehensive and cost-effective.
Click "Cloud Storage" in 1Panel, and multiple open source cloud storage products such as Next Cloud, A List, and Kedao Cloud are built-in. This time, CloudRaf is installed. Click the "Install Button", check the port for external access, and click "Confirm" for other defaults. After the automatic installation is completed, configure the ports that need to be released and click the link to access them. The first login requires an administrator account and password, which can be obtained from the installation log (output to the docker console).
CloudRaf supports multiple logins. Each account has independent storage space. The default initial capacity is 1G. The logged in administrator account can be modified in the user group. By default, local storage (cloud server hard disk) is used. If there is insufficient space, you can use Tencent Cloud Object Storage. After purchase, just add Tencent Cloud COS settings in CloudRaf. It also supports online preview of pictures, online playback of audio and video, and online preview of documents. You can share study materials and set passwords and expirations. It also supports magnetic offline downloading (you need to install the software in advance, I won’t demonstrate it in detail this time, please refer to the official documentation).
At this point, the personal blog and personal network disk are completed. During the demonstration, the operation response and page rendering speed were very fast. 1Panel’s application list also has interesting projects such as data big screen, DataIs private knowledge base, Max KB, ALAMMA’s Web UI waiting to be explored. I hope everyone can practice it and make full use of cloud servers.
