Have you ever dreamed of enjoying the perfect combination of work and life as a digital nomad in a foreign country? Today, let us walk into Busan together and uncover the mystery of how much living costs it takes to become a digital nomad for a month.
Choosing the right place to stay in Busan is the first step to starting life as a digital nomad. We chose a short-term rental apartment located in the west of the city. The total cost of accommodation for one month was 5,310 yuan. The transportation here is convenient and the surrounding living facilities are complete, which can not only ensure the comfort of life, but also take into account economic rationality.
Food and beverage consumption in South Korea is relatively high, but we controlled the cost of ingredients to RMB 3,031 by cooking our own meals. On weekends, I choose to go out to taste Busan’s authentic food. The cost of eating out is about 2,734 yuan. This kind of catering arrangement can not only satisfy the taste buds, but also control costs.
In Busan, public transportation is the main way to get around. The fares of subways and buses are relatively low, with one trip costing about 1,200 to 1,500 won. Since we mainly move around the city on weekdays, the transportation cost is not high, totaling about 635 yuan a month.
In terms of daily necessities consumption, we chose cost-effective products, including phone cards, rags and tissues, contact lenses, bath supplies, etc., totaling about 384 yuan. In addition, we also tasted Busan’s coffee culture, and coffee drinks cost about 273 yuan.
In terms of shopping, due to the wide variety and high quality of Korean products, we couldn't help but buy a lot of clothes, cosmetics and skin care products, with a total consumption of 11,970 yuan. Of course, this also includes the cost of buying a new mobile phone because the phone was damaged.
In terms of entertainment, we chose the small cable car in Haeundae, the unlimited train and the cable car in Konggang Park as the main attractions. The total ticket cost is 379 yuan. As one of our favorite attractions in Busan, Haeundae is highly recommended to everyone who comes to Busan.
Based on the above expenses, if the cost of purchasing a new mobile phone is not taken into account, our per capita living cost in Busan for a month is about 7,757 yuan; if the cost of purchasing a new mobile phone is added, the per capita living cost will reach 12,358 yuan. Although the cost of living is relatively high, it still allows us to enjoy a high-quality life in a foreign country.
Becoming a digital nomad requires certain financial strength and life planning capabilities. While enjoying the exotic scenery, we must also learn to be careful and plan our living costs reasonably. Only in this way can we go further and more steadily on the road to pursuing our dreams.
I hope this article can reveal to you the cost of living as a digital nomad in Busan, and I hope you will go further and further on the road to pursuing your dreams!
