After hearing that the rent in Yunnan was low, I made a plan to fly from Shijiazhuang to Kunming without hesitation. However, although the ticket price is attractive, the total cost after adding the fuel surcharge still makes me hesitate. What’s even more troublesome is how to travel conveniently in this vast land after arriving in Yunnan? Renting a car seems to be a cost-effective option, but the condition and potential risks of the vehicle make me worried.
In Yunnan, I visited many places, from Yangzonghai and Fuxian Lake around Kunming to Chuxiong, Dali, Lijiang and other places. I found that tourism real estate is particularly abundant here, but there is often an oversupply problem. Many communities are rarely inhabited after they are built, and the vacancy rate is extremely high. However, in these places, I also found some extremely cost-effective properties, which made me feel the unique charm of renting and traveling.
Dali and Lijiang are well-known tourist cities in Yunnan, and their ancient city attractions attract countless tourists. However, in my opinion, these ancient cities have gradually lost their original charm and become seriously commercialized. But the inn culture and business model here opened my eyes. Competition among hundreds of inns is fierce, and prices are inflated to staggering levels. At the same time, tourism real estate in Dali and Lijiang is also quietly emerging. Although it is not yet mature, it may become a new choice for renting travelers in the future.
During my ten days in Yunnan, I enjoyed the beautiful scenery and customs of this land. Although I encountered some challenges in terms of transportation and accommodation, this experience gave me a deeper understanding of the meaning of renting and traveling. It allows us to experience different lifestyles and feel different customs at a lower cost. For renting travelers who are looking forward to living in Yunnan for a long time, they may need to wait for a while for the maturity of tourism real estate and the reshuffle of inns. But no matter what, Yunnan will be a rental travel destination worth exploring and experiencing.
