Summer is a season that people both love and hate. The sun, beach, waves, or the breeze, green trees, and cicadas in the mountains are all fascinating. However, the heat and sweltering heat also keep people away. This summer, I embarked on a journey to find a place to escape the summer heat. From Guiyang Flower Orchard, the largest community in Asia, to Dushan County, which has a debt of 40 billion, I tried to find a place that could cool my soul.
As soon as you enter Guiyang Flower Orchard, you will see towering buildings, densely packed like a steel forest. It is said that this is the largest shanty town reconstruction project in the country and can accommodate 500,000 people. However, standing under the "forest" of this city, I felt an unprecedented sense of oppression. There are so many tall buildings that seem to squeeze the sky down to just a thin line. Although the price of the finely decorated rooms here is attractive, when I walked on the overpass and saw the densely packed high-rise buildings on both sides, I couldn't help but feel an inexplicable panic in my heart.
Leaving Guiyang, I came to Dushan County, which has a debt of 40 billion. The roads in the new city here are straight and wide, and various large buildings are built one after another. Viewed from a high altitude, the design of the entire new city looks like a real city simulation game. However, behind this prosperity lies a huge debt crisis. I once encountered a beautiful and neat town on the road, but found that many houses were vacant and unoccupied, like a ghost town. I can’t help but think, can this dream of a new city really bring about the life that people expect?
This summer, I traveled through seven provinces in search of a place to escape the heat. However, I found that both the mountain towns in Guizhou and the ancient cities in Yunnan have their own problems. Some places have pleasant climates but expensive housing prices; some places have beautiful environments but inconvenient transportation. I began to reflect, do we really need to escape the city and find a so-called summer resort? Perhaps the real place to escape the summer lies not in the external environment, but in our inner peace and contentment.
After experiencing this summer vacation, I realized that instead of looking for a place to escape the heat outside, it is better to find a cool place inside. Whether it is the hustle and bustle of the city or the tranquility of the countryside, it is just a part of life. The key lies in how we adjust our mentality and maintain inner peace and contentment in this hot summer.
Finally, I want to say that the summer resort may not be far away, but in the hearts of each of us. When we learn to let go of our worries and embrace life, we can find our own coolness and comfort.
