Have you ever dreamed of owning your own hut by the sea, where you can hear the sound of the waves and see the blue sky and golden sandy beach every day when you wake up? Recently, I rented a sea-view house on the seaside of Guangdong for only 600 yuan for a month, realizing this dream. But this experience made me think more deeply about "super value" and "hidden worries".
This sea view house is located in Shapa Town, Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province, only 500 meters from the coast, with a blue bay right outside the window. The whole set of rooms is about 45 square meters, with one bedroom, one living room and one bathroom, complete with household appliances, and each room is independent. The reason why the rent is so cheap is that it is located in a remote area. There are no big cities within a hundred miles, and the occupancy rate is not high. But for me, the environment here is simply worth the money.
Every morning, when the first ray of sunlight shines into the room, I will be awakened by the sound of the waves. Sitting on the balcony with a cup of coffee and a book, you can spend a leisurely morning. In the evening, you can take a walk on the beach and feel the gentle breeze of the sea and the tranquility of the starry sky.
However, this seemingly perfect seaside town hides a worrying problem - ecological pollution. When I tried to find the most beautiful shells along the coastline, I was bothered by a pungent fishy smell. The smell became stronger the closer it got to the river, making it almost impossible to breathe.
After investigation, I found that the fishy smell came from a nearby seafood farm. The wastewater from these farms should be discharged into the sea after treatment, but the fishy smell is still very strong. To make matters worse, the nearby seawater often turns red. This may be due to the nutrients in industrial, domestic and aquaculture wastewater that promote the reproduction of plankton, leading to the red tide phenomenon. Red tides not only cause suffocation or poisoning of fish species, but also cause long-term effects on marine ecosystems.
This experience in the seaside town made me reflect deeply. When we pursue a “super value” life experience, we often tend to ignore the ecological issues behind it. These seemingly distant pollution problems are actually closely related to each of our lives.
Therefore, I call on everyone to pay more attention to the ecological and environmental issues around us, start from small things, reduce pollution emissions, and protect our common home. At the same time, it is also hoped that relevant departments can strengthen supervision and governance to ensure the health and sustainable development of marine ecosystems.
Finally, what I want to say is that although this sea view room has brought me many wonderful memories and experiences, I also hope that the ecological environment here can be better protected and improved. Let us work together to leave a better world for future generations.
